How to get involved
If you have taken a look at the website and are now interested in volunteering with us then applying couldn't be easier! Simply write to us using the form below or directly to mariaperez143@hotmail.com or volunteerguatemala@live.com, telling us a bit about yourself and the details about your stay here. Here is some useful information to include:
-
Your age
-
Your first language
-
Your level of Spanish
-
Whether you have any disabilities, special needs or allergies that could affect your stay
-
When you plan to arrive
-
For how long you would like to volunteer
-
Why you would like to volunteer here
-
Whether you have any skills or experience that might be useful while volunteering (attaching a CV is always useful should you have it at hand)

While we do not require a particular level of Spanish from our volunteers, having a basic level will open up many more opportunities for you to help in a community where very few people speak English. Therefore, we recommend brushing up a little on the language before coming to volunteer with us. In any case, should you not speak Spanish fluently, your level will certainly improve over the time you spend here.

How to arrive in Las Cruces
The easiest and most accessible point from which to arrive in Las Cruces via public transport is the Bus terminal in Santa Elena. Santa Elena is a town just across the bridge from Flores, a small island, popular amongst tourists and travellers visiting Guatemala.

Buses towards Chiapas, Mexico leave here every 30 minutes from 5am until 5pm. You can take one of these buses to Las Cruces, which will cost you 20 Quetzales (roughly $2.57 USD)

We hope to see you soon!
